The Jizera Artery was originally designed for cross-country skiing, but soon became popular with cyclists as most of it leads along maintained roads and paths which are suitable for cycling.
Three parallel routes – for hikers, cyclists and cross-country skiers, were carefully picked to pass by well-known sites in the Czech-German border area as well as by places that are interesting but which so far have been seldom visited. The routes are designed so that collisions between hikers and bikers are prevented.
